AllWinnerTech A13 CPU Aim to Further Lower The Tablets Price

Around 1 year ago a chipsets maker from China AllWinner Technologies released their flagship chipset for mainstream tablets called A1X. This low-cost highly-integrated chipset consisted of Armv7 Cortex Core clocked by default at 1.2ghz and Mali400 GPU core along with APU/Smart PMU/VPU/DPU. It has the ability to decode 3D FullHD 2160p movies in hardware, Run 3D Games like Asphalt 6 and run Android 2.3.4 and Android 4.0.3 OS smoothly. Also it had HDMI Dual Display which made it possible to connect the tablet to a big screen by HDMI without turning off the tablet’s screen. Especially useful for games and presentations.

It’s very low cost led to a lot of great tablets, Even tablets for sub-$100 price range with features like Capacitive Multi-touch screen, HDMI, WiFi, USB 3G, Android 4.0.3, Camera, Microphone, G-Sensors, MicroSD HC Up to 32GB and much more.
Now they have announced one more addition to their low-priced yet powerful CPUs, The A13.
It has the following advantages over the A10 model:
  • Around 49% lower power consumption
  • Around 25% lower running temperature
It is estimated that the same battery as used in current $90-$150 A10 Tablets to provide around 6 hours of battery life can provide around 10 hours with the new A13 CPU.
The cost of the CPU itself is lower than A10, Which mean we can expect new tablets with the new A13 Chipset to cost even less than the already low cost of the tablets based on A10 Chipset.
